FAQs

Your questions, answered.

Everything you need to know before you book, about blood testing, and about what happens after your consultation.

Before booking

Which of the services should I choose?

Pick the one closest to what's bothering you: Men's Health & Prevention for broad concerns, prevention and heart risk (including heart scans), Testosterone & TRT for low energy and drive, and Medical Weight Loss for weight. If you're unsure, choose Men's Health & Prevention or request a callback.

Do I need a GP referral?

No. You can book directly online. With your permission we're glad to write to your GP.

What does €199 or €349 include?

Both include a 30-minute private video consultation with a doctor and a written plan. €199 is for men who already have suitable recent blood results, which your doctor reviews before you meet. €349 includes the blood tests we arrange at an accredited laboratory near you, reviewed by your doctor before your consultation.

Who provides the care?

Fully qualified doctors registered with the Medical Council of Ireland: Dr Ahmed Saleem, who leads clinical care, and Dr Waqar Ahmed. Quantum was founded by Dr Alan Farrell.

Where is Quantum available?

Anywhere in the Republic of Ireland. Consultations are by secure video, and blood tests are taken at an accredited laboratory near you.

Blood testing

Can I use my own results?

Yes. Choose the €199 option and upload your results securely when you book.

Which results are acceptable?

Results need to be recent enough to reflect your current health and include the tests relevant to your concern, for example a morning testosterone test for a TRT assessment. If yours aren't suitable, we'll tell you before your consultation and explain your options.

Where are bloods taken?

With the €349 option, we order your tests and direct you to an accredited laboratory near you for a quick blood draw. Results come straight back to your doctor.

What if more testing is needed?

Your doctor will explain why and what it costs before anything is arranged. Further tests and scans are charged separately.

After your consultation

Will I receive a written plan?

Yes. Every consultation ends with a written plan, and with your permission we'll share it with your GP.

Are prescriptions guaranteed?

No. Treatment is only prescribed when your doctor considers it clinically appropriate after assessing you. Prescriptions go to a pharmacy of your choice, which charges for the medication.

What do follow-up and monitoring cost?

Follow-up consultations and monitoring bloods are charged separately. You'll always be told the cost before you book them.

Can I get a receipt?

Yes. You'll receive a receipt for every payment. If you need an itemised receipt for insurance or tax purposes, just ask.

Is my information confidential?

Yes. Your medical information is confidential to you and your doctor and is handled in line with GDPR.

Is Quantum suitable for emergencies?

No. If you need urgent medical attention, call 999 or 112, contact your GP or attend your nearest emergency department.

Free callback · no commitment

Rather talk it through first?

Leave your number and a member of the Quantum team will call you back within one working day, talk you through the options and answer anything you want to ask before you book.

We'll only use your details to call you back about your enquiry, and there's no obligation to book. Please don't include medical details here: your doctor will collect those securely once you book.
